The Lowry Avenue Bridge is an important transportation corridor and neighborhood connection in Minneapolis. Hennepin County and their partners are currently studying possible designs for replacing the bridge, which will be reconstructed because of ongoing maintenance issues and increasing levels of traffic. The design process started in summer of 2007 and is expected to go through 2009; construction will occur after that, subject to funding.
