The Lowry Avenue Bridge is an important transportation corridor and neighborhood connection in Minneapolis. Hennepin County is planning to replace the bridge, which has been closed since 2008. The design process started in summer of 2007. Removal of the existing
bridge is planned for spring/summer 2009; construction of the new bridge is planned
to begin fall 2009 and is expected to go through 2011.
